Control is gained when:
- A skater places their stick into the ring, propels the ring with their stick, or fi they bat or kick the ring
- A goalie within the crease prevents the ring from entering the net and the ring comes to rest inside or contacting the goal crease
- A goalie not preventing the ring from entering the net propels the ring with their stick, or bats or kicks the ring
- The ring comes to rest inside or contacts the goal crease
Possession is when a player/ team has last contacted or controlled the ring has possession.
Control is when a player has physical control of the ring while possession is the last player/ team who had control of the ring.
